NEWS – Phillips Sells the Omega Tourbillon 30 I, One Of The First Tourbillon Wristwatches Ever, For a Monumental CHF 1,428,500 (Most Expensive Omega Ever Auctioned) – Monochrome Watches

Breguet invented the complication, Lip created them first and Franck Muller, Audemars Piguet, and Breguet commercialised it. We’re talking about the tourbillon wristwatch.

Omega produced the first Swiss made tourbillon watches (Lip is a French company) and this is an article of one of those early Omega tourbillons being auctioned.

The Life and Times of Daniel Roth, Master Watchmaker of the Vallée de Joux | SJX Watches

Mr Roth, 72 years old, has been a watchmaker in Switzerland for 50 years.

He played an important part in the history of Breguet and Nouvelle Lemania but he enjoys being an independant solo watchmaker the most.

Speedy Tuesday – Watch Fan Discovers Forgotten Moonwatch In A Box Of His Grandfather

This is the story of a watch fan who’d admired the Omega Speedmaster for 20 years. However, he never thought he’d actually own one because they were out of his price range.

One day he helps his mother to get everything in order at his grandparent’s place after his grandmother had passed away.

When going through some boxes, he found a  Speedmaster 145.022-69 straight writing that had been his late grandfather’s.

Does it get any better than this?
